Dr. Bipeen Dahal
Supervisor
Dr. Bipeen Dahal is an experienced researcher and academic at Tribhuvan University, specializing in the synthesis and characterization of advanced nanomaterials. He guides FNPL’s projects, collaborations, and student research initiatives, connecting fundamental chemistry with practical applications. Dr. Bipeen Dahal is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Tribhuvan University, with a strong background in materials science and energy applications. He holds a PhD from Jeonbuk National University in South Korea, where his research focused on Metal-Organic Frameworks and carbon fibrous materials for energy storage. Dr. Dahal has received numerous prestigious awards, including the TWAS-Ata-ur-Rahman Award-2024, and multiple awards from Jeonbuk National University, such as the Presidential Prize for Academic Excellency and Award of Outstanding Performance in Academic Research. These accolades highlight his exceptional performance and standing within the international scientific community. Dr. Dahal’s research is highly focused on advanced materials for energy applications, specifically supercapacitors, batteries, and water splitting with Exceptional Publication Record having almost five dozen research papers in highly respected, high-impact journals (Q1 journals) such as Advanced Energy Materials, Nano Energy, and Advanced Functional Materials. His Google Scholar profile shows a high h-index and citation count, reflecting the significant influence of his work in the field. He has also served as a corresponding author on several papers, indicating his role as a lead researcher. He has served as a Principal Investigator for a major research project funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea and was a key member of several other large-scale, funded research projects. This experience demonstrates his ability to secure funding and manage complex research initiatives.

Dr. Subhangi Subedi
Principal Investigator
Dr. Subhangi Subedi leads FNPL’s research on sustainable nanomaterials with a focus on energy storage and functional material design. She is dedicated to fostering collaborative research and mentoring emerging scientists in Nepal’s growing nanoscience community. Dr. Subedi is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from Jeonbuk National University, South Korea. Her research profile highlights a strong background in academic research, with a focus on advanced materials like carbon nanoparticles and liquid crystals. Dr. Subedi’s research centers on the development of smart materials for applications in environmental monitoring and food quality detection. Her projects, funded by prestigious grants like the OWSD Early Career Fellowship and the NAST Young Scientist Grant, focus on creating fluorescent probes and smart sensors from materials like Carbon Quantum Dots.
She has received several notable awards and scholarships, including the Falling Walls Female Science Talent Intensive Track Winner 2024 and the Outstanding Performance in Academic Research Award 2022 from her doctoral institution. This demonstrates her high-level performance and international recognition in her field. She has extensive experience as a Principal Investigator on national and international research projects.

Barsha Pandey
Research Assistant
Barsha Pandey is a Research Assistant at the Functional Nanomaterial Processing Lab (FNPL), Tribhuvan University, where she focuses on the synthesis and processing of nanomaterials, including MXenes, MOFs, and metal chalcogenides for applications in energy storage. She has prior research experience in corrosion studies and is proficient in data analysis and scientific interpretation, along with her strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and effective communication, which allow her to collaborate productively in multidisciplinary research environments. She is passionate about advancing sustainable energy materials while contributing to the lab’s vision of fostering innovation in nanoscience
