About FNPL

The Functional Nanomaterial Processing Lab (FNPL) was established under the Central Department of Chemistry, Tribhuvan University, with UNESCO-TWAS support. FNPL is committed to pushing the boundaries of nanoscience and materials chemistry by synthesizing and processing innovative functional nanomaterials.

Our Mission

Our mission is to develop sustainable solutions for clean energy, environmental remediation, and advanced material design. By connecting fundamental research with practical applications, we aim to create materials that have real-world impact while training the next generation of scientists.

Facilities
FNPL is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, including PL Spectrometers, electrochemical workstations, hydrothermal/solvothermal synthesis units, UV chambers, microwave synthesizers, and more.

Our Research Areas
We focus on:

MOFs and Derivatives: For gas adsorption, catalysis, and scalable green synthesis.
MXenes and Derivatives: For sensors, flexible electronics, and high-performance energy devices.
Metal Chalcogenides: For batteries, catalysis, and optoelectronic applications.
Photoluminescent Nanomaterials: With special emphasis on carbon quantum dots for smart devices and photocatalysis.
